A dental filling is used to repair a tooth that is affected by decay, cracks, fractures, and so forth. In just one appointment, the decayed or affected portion of the tooth will be removed, and the remainder of your teeth will be cleaned and filled. Composite-resin (tooth-colored) fillings can be closely matched to the color of existing teeth.

Procedure

The dental procedure for a filling is usually completed in one appointment. When preparing your tooth for the dental filling, Dr. Karagiannis will remove all tooth decay and thoroughly clean your tooth. If the decay was near the nerve of the tooth, he may apply a special medication for your protection. After the tooth has been prepared, the composite filling will then be precisely placed, shaped, and polished.
